Course Description

Theoretical component: 40%

This advanced training is intended for workers who have already been trained in work at height and fall protection and who wish to develop specialized skills in rope rescue. It aims to deepen technical knowledge, strengthen practical skills in real-life situations, and ensure full mastery of safe procedures for rescuing suspended or unreachable persons.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to plan and carry out a rope rescue independently and in compliance with applicable standards.

 

Training objectives:

  • Review the laws, standards, and responsibilities applicable to rescue operations.
  • Identify hazards related to work at height and rope operations.
  • Use, inspect, and maintain rescue equipment.
  • Plan and execute a rope rescue safely.
  • Apply various techniques for movement, descent, ascent, and evacuation.
  • Effectively manage a suspended victim.

 

Training content:

  • Review of fall protection principles and suspension trauma.
  • Review of high-risk zones, access methods, and best practices for work at height.
  • Legal framework and professional responsibilities of rescuers.
  • Use and maintenance of specialized equipment: descenders, rope grabs, harnesses, lanyards, etc.
  • Rescue planning and emergency response management.
  • Rope evacuation and rescue techniques (self-rescue, assisted rescue, accompanied rescue).
  • Practical exercises: rescue scenarios, full victim management, rope movement, and double connection techniques.

Prerequisites
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be in good physical condition (mobility, ability to work in confined spaces, etc.)
  • Have completed the Working at Heights / Fall Protection training (8 hours)

The second floor is used as a classroom, and a separate cafeteria is available to participants during breaks.
